About the Role
We are currently seeking an ambitious professional to join our Equity Research team as an Associate Analyst in our Sydney Office. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Lead Analyst in the Technology and Software coverage team by undertaking research and financial modelling of selected Industrial companies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertake and collate background research on an ad hoc basis for companies being added to the core coverage list.
- Attend meetings with the Lead Analysts and the Company Management of covered stocks.
- Assist Lead Analysts to create and maintain accurate financial models for companies covered.
- Assist with publishing Research reports for Institutional and Retail Clients.
- Deal with client requests for research and information.
- Assist in the preparation of Institutional marketing documents and sector / thematic reports when required.
- Assist and provide back up on other Research administration tasks including database administration and various monthly reports.
About you:
To be considered for this role you will need to have a tertiary qualification, preferably in a Commerce, Finance or Engineering discipline. Further study or additional finance related qualifications (e.g. CFA, CA, CPA) would be highly regarded.
Ideally, the successful candidate will possess a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role or relevant industry experience, with strong mathematical, statistical, and analytical skills.
We are also seeking applicants with the following attributes:
- Capability to develop and update complex financial models.
- Maintain a high degree of integrity and ethics.
- The ability to communicate ideas and investment thesis in a clear fashion both verbally and in written form.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative, be self-directed and work under minimal supervision.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
